Ligue 1: Ghost Game for St. Etienne to Fan
The French first division club AS St. Etienne had to play the last home game of the season after the misconduct of its fans last weekend. The French league association LFP announced the punishment for the incidents in the scandal game against AS Monaco on Saturday (1: 4).
The game against Monaco was interrupted for half an hour in the second half after smoke bombs had been thrown off the ranks. Similar incidents had already occurred in the first half and the game had been stopped briefly.
There could be further penalties to the club. The league association initiated an investigation of the incidents. The decision of the LFP disciplinary commission is to be announced on May 18.
